Implant & Full-Arch Dentistry

Dental Implants

A dental implant replaces a missing tooth from the root up: it sits in the jawbone, and the tooth you see is built on it. Implant dentistry has been part of Dr. Ehsan Asadi’s work since 2010.

Whether an implant suits you, and which kind, is decided after an examination.

One tooth, several, or a full arch

Implants can support a crown for one missing tooth, a bridge for several teeth, or a full set of replacement teeth for an upper or lower jaw.

Who might this treatment suit?

People missing one or more teeth who would like a fixed replacement that does not rely on the neighboring teeth. It depends on healthy gums, on enough bone where the implant would sit, or bone that can be rebuilt first, and on your general health. Smoking and some medical conditions can affect healing, so we ask about them at the examination.

How treatment usually unfolds

  1. Examination and plan

We examine your teeth, gums and bone, then explain the plan, the options and the fees before anything begins.

  2. Placing the implant

The implant is placed in the jawbone, where the root of the missing tooth used to be.

  3. Healing

The surrounding tissues need time to heal and the implant to bond with the jawbone before the final tooth is fitted. The timing depends on your treatment plan.

  4. The abutment and the crown

The abutment connects the implant to the crown, which is shaped and shaded to sit with the teeth beside it.

  5. Care afterwards

Brushing, cleaning between the teeth and regular checkups look after an implant as they do natural teeth.

Questions patients ask

Can anyone have a dental implant?

Not always. It depends on the health of your gums, the bone where the implant would sit and your general health.

What if there is not enough bone?

Bone grafting can sometimes rebuild the area first, so that an implant can be placed.

Can you check what my insurance covers?

Yes. We can contact your insurance company to check what your plan covers for this treatment.
