Full-Arch Dental Implants
Full-arch treatment restores all the teeth of the upper or lower jaw on dental implants. It is considered when most or all of the teeth in a jaw are missing or cannot be kept.
Whether it suits you, which design, and how many implants are decided after an examination and imaging of the jaw.
- Full-arch teethOne example: a fixed set of teeth replaces all the teeth of the jaw. Removable designs also exist.
- ImplantsSix are shown in this example; not every full arch uses six. The number is planned for each jaw.
Fixed or removable
A full arch on implants can be fixed or removable. Fixed teeth are attached to the implants, and only the dentist takes them off; All-on-X, with four, six or eight implants, is a fixed design. A removable overdenture clips onto implants, comes out each day for cleaning, and usually needs fewer implants. We explain both options at your examination.
Full-arch and All-on-X
Full-arch is the broad term: any way of restoring a complete jaw on implants, fixed or removable. All-on-X is one fixed design within it, in which the number of implants is chosen for your jaw.
How treatment usually unfolds
Examination and imaging
We examine your mouth and take images of the jaw, to see how much bone there is and where implants could be placed.
Your plan
We explain how many implants we recommend, the kind of teeth they would hold, the steps and the fees, before you decide.
Placing the implants
The implants are placed in the jaw with the area numbed. What you wear while they heal is part of the plan we explain beforehand.
Your final teeth
When the implants are ready, the final teeth are made: a fixed set attached to the implants, or a removable overdenture that clips onto them. Then we check how you bite and chew.
Care and checkups
We show you how to clean your new teeth and around the implants, and see you for regular checkups.

Questions patients ask
What if I have little bone?
The plan can sometimes adapt to the bone you have, or bone grafting may come first. The examination shows which applies.
How much will it cost?
It depends on your plan. Before you decide, you receive a written estimate of what your insurance is expected to cover and what you may need to pay. If you would rather pay over time, ask about financing through Cherry, which is subject to approval.
