Oral Pathology & Biopsy
Oral pathology is the examination of changes in the mouth: a sore that does not heal, a patch of a different color, a lump or a swelling. In a biopsy a small sample of the tissue is taken so that a laboratory can examine it.
A biopsy gives a diagnosis that looking alone cannot.
What happens next
When the laboratory's report arrives, we explain it to you and tell you whether anything needs to be done. Some findings call for care from a specialist, and we tell you if that is the case.
